I’ve  been in Canada for the past couple weeks, soaking up the cool 
weather. We  haven’t even turned on the AC. Sunday I head out for the Michigan Women
’s Music  Festival. (Yeah, I know they spell it “womyn.” My writer’s 
brain just can’t bear  a “y” in “women.” So pummel me with an organic carrot.) 
I’m  not booked to perform or teach there. I will, however, be at the 
Goldenrod booth  most afternoons. C’mon back and say hey. I’ll be sure to have a 
stack of great  CDs for you to hear and buy. And no, they aren’t all mine.

I’m  desperate to befriend the neighborhood cats here but they don’t 
respond to  “kitty kitty.” Apparently, even the cats speak French. Heck, even my 
cats speak  French. In fact, they know “tuna” in every language. 
I’m  getting married on Friday. Whoo hoo! We’re registered at Canadian 
Tire. I wanted  to register at Guitar Center but the gf wouldn't go for it. 
I had a  couple of tres (French!) fun festival gigs this earlier this 
month. Thanks  to everyone who came out to Festival for the Eno and the Red Roof 
Women’s  Festival. Who knew I had to come to Canada to get a  sunburn?

not be  familiar with my work. For those of you who are, there are several 
songs here  that you won’t find on any album – a version of “Her Problem Now”
 with my band,  Broad Street; “Six Flags Over Jesus” done solo; and a live 
recording of  “Menstrual Tango” with the Indianapolis Women’s Chorus.

I’m  looking for gigs in November. If you know of a folk coffeehouse or 
similar type  venue that I could contact, please let me know. I prefer a place 
with a  listening crowd (no noisy bars please) and more than pass-the-hat 
pay. House  concerts are great. If you have a living room or other space that 
seats more  than 20 and a good list of friends who might attend, I’d love to
