The  Jamie Anderson Newsletter

I don’t usually post personal photos but I’m getting married this month
and I feel like shouting it from the rooftops. Here’s my sweetie and I, in a
photo taken at the National Women’s Music Festival a couple of years ago,
by my friend  EL.

And no, I’m not wearing this dress:

But it’s awfully fun to wear when I’m emceeing. That’s me with a group of
women for one of my weirdly entertaining contests at the Virginia Women’s
Music Festival  this last May.

2.  Welcome and general blabbing
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I’m not  doing a lot of touring right now. I've stuck around home, teaching
and gardening  mostly. I’ve got a rockin’ garden with so many tomatoes
they should be the  feature of their own horror story.
One of  my new students showed up for her first class sporting four
ponytails and an  electric Hello Kitty guitar. The cuteness was so blinding I could
hardly teach.  I adore my students.
And  yep, I’m getting married although my sweetie prefers “official
legalization of  our co-joining.” (You know I love you honey.)
The  newest issue of Curve has a couple of articles written by moi. Look
for  more from me in future issues.
I’m  still raising money for my new album. If you can help, see the link on
the front  page at _www.jamieanderson.com_ (http://www.jamieanderson.com/)
.
Physically  I won't be at the National Women’s Music Festival this weekend
L but  I’ll certainly be there in spirit. I will, however, be at the
Michigan Womyn’s  Music Festival. I’m not booked to play but you can find me in
the Goldenrod  booth most afternoons. When I’m not honeymooning, that is. J
I’ve  got a couple of gigs this month. This Saturday I’ll be at Durham’s
Festival for  the Eno, in a solo set and with my band. I love this festival ‘
cause it’s got  such a great variety of music and dance. And sure, it’s hot
but heck, it’s the  South in the summer. Just get yourself a super-sized
lemonade and plant your  butt in a shady spot near one of the stages. You won’
t have to move for a long  time, I guarantee it.
Later  this month I’ll be at the Red Roof Women’s Music Festival in
Ontario. No, not in  Ohio, that’s in Canada. I’m excited to play my first big
women’s event in  Canada. They were nearly sold out last time I checked so be
sure to look at  their website before you head out.
Have  a cool July y'all!
Well,  that pretty much sums it up. You can donate a bit of dough if you
want. Or not.  :)
There  are several songs there that you won’t find on any album – a
version of “Her  Problem Now” with my band, Broad Street; “Six Flags Over Jesus”
done solo; and a  live recording of “Menstrual Tango” with the
Indianapolis Women’s  Chorus.
I also  have songs for a small fee on a ton of download sites, including
iTunes.
4. Do you live in Arizona?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I'm looking for house concerts or other performance opportunities in
Arizona for November. I'm already booked in Tucson but if you live in the
Phoenix area or elsewhere, please give me a shout. A venue with a listening crowd
(no noisy bars please) that pays more than tips is great. House concerts
are also wonderful. If you have a space that seats more than 20 and a good
list of friends, you're good to go. There's no money up front for you and
you don't need any equipment. E me if you can help: tsunamiinc at aol dot
com.

5.  Mailing list business
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
You  are on this list because you signed up at a concert or went online and
signed  yourself up. If neither of those things happened then someone has
forwarded you  this newsletter. I do not add anyone without their permission
nor is this list  sold to anyone else. If you'd like to unsub, I'll cry but
I won't make you pay  my therapist bill. You can do it yourself at
_www.jamieanderson.com/newsletter.html_
(http://www.jamieanderson.com/newsletter.html) . Likewise  if you'd like to change your address. Please  don't forward
virus warnings, news items, jokes or petitions.  With over 2,000 of you on
this list it'd be too much to keep up with the extra  mail. However, I love
getting mail from fans and answer when I can: tsunamiinc  at aol dot com.
6.  Ending quote
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"I hate Katy Perry! [She's one of those] straight girls who like to turn
guys on by ... faking gay." -- Beth Ditto
Word. I hate that song. I’m hoping I don’t need to don my flame retardant
undies. J
