2. Welcome and general blabbing
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Welcome to 2008! I hope it's been a good one for you so far. It has for me. On New Year's Eve I celebrated with my sweetie, watching beautifully vivid fireworks explode over Ottawa. Yep, that was me, standing in a park in 20-some degree weather. For Canadians, that's not cold. (What, you thought I meant Ottawa, Ohio?) Really. I saw people in running shoes and sweatshirts. I was wearing a down filled duvet, two pairs of mittens and borrowed boots. Okay so it wasn't a duvet. Exactly. But it kept me warm, a first in Jamie-land. Who cares that I looked like the Michelin Tire guy?
I'm working like crazy to book my March/April Northeast tour but I've gotta tell ya that it's not looking good. Right now I don't have enough confirmed bookings to make it financially feasible. If you could help me out by suggesting a few venues I could snag on short notice, that'd be tres groovy. House concerts are great. Details are below.
There are no gigs this month but I'll be in NJ in February and NY and New England in March/April. I'm cooking up some local gigs for you NC fans. And whoo hoo! I'm starting a band so you NC fans will start seeing them this year. I'm sooooooo excited about the line-up. I'm keeping them under wraps until we snag some gigs. And who knows, maybe I'll be able to travel with them. Anyone got a few thousand bucks laying around to sponsor us? Maybe a tour bus you're not using? A massage therapist, a caterer, roadies ... hey I just want what Wynonna has. Minus the husband.
3. Do you live in NJ, PA, NY or New England? Wanna put on a house concert?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I've got a few holes in upcoming tour schedules that I need to fill. Want a house concert in your living room? You just need room for 20 or more and a good list of friends who would probably come. It's like organizing a party only there's live music and comedy. I've worked with a lot of first-time organizers so no jitters for you. AND there's no money up front, I just take what's collected at the door. Here's what I'm looking for:
Friday, Feb. 15, eastern PA, NJ
mid March through early April, NY and New England
Give me a shout if you're interested: tsunamiinc at aol.com

5. Three Bridges liner notes
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
If you bought my latest album Three Bridges - thankyouthankyou. And if you haven't, well, why not? You can get it at www.cdbaby.com/jamieanderson4, www.goldenrod.com, www.ladyslipper.org and a host of download sites.
Sorry there's not much in the way of liner notes with the disc itself but it doesn't mean they don't exist. (Oops, a double negative. It's just a ploy to get the grammar cops out. I just love a woman in uniform.) Go to www.jamieanderson.com and click on the Three Bridges photo on the home page. Not only are there lyrics but you can learn which song featured a toy piano, for which album the mandolin player sat in a closet, and what song I played in a contest and lost to Tret Fure (and like I say there, heck if you're going to lose, lose to someone who's really good). I tell secrets about Lisa Koch and admit that "Drive All Night" isn't really about driving. Don't tell CarTalk.
6. Can you write a quick review of Three Bridges?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
There are places at many web sites where you can post a quick review of Three Bridges. Here's one of them: www.cdbaby.com/jamieanderson4 - just click on the "post a review" link at the bottom of the page. You don't have to write anything beautifully poetic or lengthy, a simple "I loved it, my dog loved it and you'll love it" would suffice.
If you're a lesbian and feel extra motivated, you could write something a bit longer for the Lesbian Connection: www.lconline.org or write to them at elsiepub at aol.com

7. Mailing list business
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
You are on this list because you signed up at a concert or went online and signed yourself up. If neither of those things happened then someone has forwarded you this newsletter. I do not add anyone without their permission nor is this list sold to anyone else. If you'd like to unsub, I'll cry but I won't make you pay my therapist bill. You can do it yourself at www.jamieanderson.com/newsletter.html. Likewise if you'd like to change your address. Please don't forward virus warnings, news items, jokes or petitions. With over 2,000 of you on this list it'd be too much to keep up with the extra mail. However, I love getting mail from fans and answer when I can: tsunamiinc at aol dot com.
8. Quote
~~~~~~~
"I am also very proud to be a liberal. Why is that so terrible these days? The liberals were liberators—they fought slavery, fought for women to have the right to vote, fought against Hitler, Stalin, fought to end segregation, fought to end apartheid. Liberals put an end to child labor and they gave us the five day work week! What's to be ashamed of?" — Barbra Streisand
Amen, sister. Vote y'all!
Peace and chocolate,
