2. Welcome and general blabbing
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
My guitar students are  getting ready for their annual concert. I’m
performing with a good many of them  including one of my little rockers who’s hell bent
on doing “Smells Like Teen  Spirit.” He doesn’t like to sing so guess who
gets to do her best Kurt Cobain  imitation? The lyrics make no sense – why yes,
ahem, I am older – but I have to  admire that he rhymed “mosquito” with “
libido.” I know, I know, it’s not about  the words anyway. Sometimes I can be
such a folk singer.
It’s funny when a  guitar student brings me a song like this. To me, it’s
edgy alt rock. To him,  it’s classic rock that came out before he was born. When
I started teaching I  was sure that kids would bring me the music of bands I’
d never heard of but  instead, they’re bringing me classics like Chuck Berry
and Janis Joplin. Of  course, I’ve also learned Hannah Montana and played “
Skip to My Lou” more times  than any human should but heck, they’re my students
and I adore the little  buggers. The big ones too.
Teaching isn’t all I  do and the purpose of this newsletter isn’t really to
go on about my students  but to let you know about my concerts and recordings.
This month I’m motoring up  to Delaware and New Jersey for a couple of
special Valentines  Day gigs. The former includes a nice dinner and the latter, lots
of laughs  with an Evening of Silly Love Songs featuring Carla Ulbrich, Scott
Sheldon,  a special guest and moi. (French! My gf would be so proud!) In
March I’m heading  up to NY and New England AND for my first ever gig in
beeeeeeauuuutiful  Ottawa. My gf  has promised to bring her entire family. That oughta
fill up the café so sorry,  no room for the rest of you. Kidding! You KNOW I’m
kidding, right?
3. Do you live in southern Ontario,  NY or New  England? Wanna put on a house
concert?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Don’t you want a concert in your living room? You only need room for 20 or
more and a good list of friends who would probably come. I've worked with a
lot of first-time organizers so it’s easy peasy for you. AND there's no money
up front, I just take what's collected at the door. I’m looking for something
mid March through early April in southern Ontario, NY or New England. Give
me a shout if you're interested: _tsunamiinc at aol.com_

4. SingOut! likes me, bless their folk singin' hearts
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
There’s a really nice  review of Three Bridges in the latest issue of
SingOut!, right there on  page 131. Unfortunately, it’s not at their website, you
have to buy the paper  publication (and it’s worth it too – check out the cover
story on Emmylou  Harris). “… a treasure for her fans and a perfect
introduction to her music for  those who have not yet discovered her.” – S.S.
In the same issue is  an obituary of Maxine Feldman that I wrote. It was a
struggle to fit  in everything I wanted. I could’ve filled pages.
5. Three Bridges
~~~~~~~~~~~~~

If you bought my latest album Three Bridges, you are a deity among common
humans. And if you haven't, well, why not? You can get it at
_www.cdbaby.com/jamieanderson4_ (http://www.cdbaby.com/jamieanderson4) ,  _www.goldenrod.com_
(http://www.goldenrod.com/) , _www.ladyslipper.org_
(http://www.ladyslipper.org/) and a host of download sites including _www.iTunes.com_
(http://www.itunes.com/) .

The CD doesn’t have much in the way of liner notes – sorry ‘bout that –
but if you go to my website and click on the picture of Three Bridges right
there on the home page, you’ll get pages and pages of liner notes. I kept
thinking, hey, web space is cheap, I can write however much I want! I tell secrets
about Lisa Koch and admit that "Drive All Night" really isn't about driving.
Shhh, CarTalk doesn’t  know.

6. Can you write a quick review of Three Bridges? Pretty please?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
There  are places at many web sites where you can post a quick review of
Three Bridges. Here's one of them: _www.cdbaby.com/jamieanderson4_
(http://www.cdbaby.com/jamieanderson4)  -  just click on the "post a review" link at the
bottom of the page. You don't have  to write anything beautifully poetic or
lengthy, a simple "I loved it, my dog  loved it and you'll love it" would suffice.
If you're a lesbian and feel  extra motivated, you could write something a
bit longer for the Lesbian Connection:& _elsiepub at aol.com_
7. Mailing list business
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

You are on this list because you signed up at a concert or went online and
signed yourself up. If neither of those things happened then someone has
forwarded you this newsletter. I do not add anyone without their permission nor is
this list sold to anyone else. If you'd like to unsub, I'll cry but I won't
make you pay my therapist bill. You can do it yourself at
_www.jamieanderson.com/newsletter.html_ (http://www.jamieanderson.com/newsletter.html) .
Likewise if you'd like to change your address. Please don't forward virus warnings,
news items, jokes or petitions. With over 2,000 of you on this list it'd be
too much to keep up with the extra mail. However, I love getting mail from fans
 and answer when I can: tsunamiinc at aol dot com.

That’s a good enough reason to vote, eh?
