2. New album news and general blabbing
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The new album, Three Bridges,  is almost here!!! The truck should pull up to
the palatial Tsunami Records  warehouse in a couple of weeks. If you
preordered the album, you’ll get it  before the end of the month, goddess willin’ and
the crik don’t rise. If you’ll  be at Festival for the Eno or the National
Women’s Music Festival then you can  purchase it there. Soon, it’ll be up at
various websites like _www.cdbaby.com_ (http://www.cdbaby.com/) ,
_www.ladyslipper.org_ (http://www.ladyslipper.org/) , _www.goldenrod.com_
(http://www.goldenrod.com/) , _www.iTunes.com_ (http://www.itunes.com/)  and more! Whoo  hoo!
I had big fun at my May gigs. Weather  was perfect at the Virginia Women’s
Music Festival. I was delighted to have a  chance to dance my fool arse off to
Paprika _www.paprikamusic.com_ (http://www.paprikamusic.com/)  and Wicked
Jezebel  _http://www.wickedjezabel.com/_ (http://www.wickedjezabel.com/)  -  those
ladies are the best cover band on the planet, girl howdy. And Paprika does
all that yummy world music – it does this little bellydancing folk singer some
good, I’ll tell ya.
Opening for Cris Williamson in  New Jersey was  a great pleasure and people,
people, people, did she say some nice things about  my work. When Cris
Williamson tells you have a beautiful voice, baby, you pay  attention. I’ll include a
quote on my webpage soon. Which brings me to  …
My website will be updated this month.  I’ll have extensive liner notes for
Three Bridges as well as new photos and  other groovy stuff. Stay tuned for the
big damn unveiling.
The only gig I have planned for this  month is in Provincetown at the Golden
Threads gathering.  Early next month I’ll be at Festival for the Eno (bless
them for booking me  every year) and at the National Women’s Music Festival. For
the latter, I am  getting’ me a
damn-good-make-my-eyes-roll-into-the-back-of-my-head-they’re-so-awesome band:  Kara Barnard on guitar and mandolin, Tory K
on vocals and Phyllis Free on  percussion. To say I’m merely excited about
this band is a gross understatement.  You’ve all heard Kara on my last three
albums and at other festivals. She’s one  of the most skilled and tasteful
musicians I know. Tory you may have heard on  the main stage at the Michigan
festival, singing with artists like  Ferron and Nedra Johnson (and moi at the Ohio
Lesbian Festival last year).  Phyllis Free was a longtime member of Yer
Girlfriend as well as doing many other  projects over the years. She taught at Women
in Harmony (my music camp) and  everyone loved her.
Enough blabbing. Hope to see y’all at a  festival!
3. I need friends. Go to MySpace!  Please?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Won’t you be my friend? Get tour updates, listen to songs, read my blog and
see pics that aren’t on my regular site.

4. Musicians, looking for a bio writer?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
One of my gigs is as a music  journalist. If I read one more bio bloated with
empty superlatives (The next  Dylan! Better than yo mama!) it’s gonna get
ugly, people. For a small fee and  quick turnaround, I can write your bio. My
work has been published in  Acoustic Guitar, Sing Out!, Indie-Music.com and more.
Here are some  samples:
I can also write bios, web  content and press releases for dancers and other
kinds of creative folks.  Interested? Give me a shout:
5. Still looking for someone to video  tape my performance
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I’m still looking for someone who can record a live performance. It doesn’t
have to be at a professional level, just something I can post at YouTube and
perhaps my MySpace page. Do you have a decent camera and will you be at the
Golden Threads gathering, Festival for the Eno or the National Women’s Music
Festival? I’d love to talk with you! _tsunamiinc at aol.com_

6. Classes and lessons for June
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
If you live in the triangle cities  area, check out my classes and lessons. I’
ve got a bellydance class and  songwriting class starting on Monday, June 11.
No, they aren’t at the same time  although that would be interesting to try
sometime. J For details: _www.durhamarts.org_ (http://www.durhamarts.org/)
I also have two openings for guitar  students. I’ve had a waiting list for
the last few months and this is the first  time I don’t so if you’ve been
thinking of lessons, don’t wait. I don’t know  when I’ll have this kind of
availability again. Lessons are in a central  Durham location,  ½ hour weekly (except
when I’m on tour) and for adults and kids 7 and older.
