2. Welcome and general  blabbing
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Ohmygoddess did I hit the lousy weather on this last  tour. A snowstorm
chased me all the way up to New Hampshire in mid March. I swear it was  just an
hour behind me all the way up I-93. It ruined my first gig and made an  impact on
the second but musicians are like the post office, ya know? What’s  getting
stuck in a few driveways? (Okay, it was only one and they were nice  women and
no, I didn’t hit their truck.) The rest of the tour was climate  friendly. I
even got TWO great parking spaces in New York City – one right in front of the
apartment building where I was staying. I’m convinced that’s why some people
 stay in New  York. If you get a good parking spot, you don’t wanna  give it
up.
I actually love NYC and ate my way through it, as  usual. Where else can you
get good Brazilian food at midnight? And yes, I did  that. I love people
watching in the city. You can sit on the subway and hear  four different languages,
all within four stops. One of the languages was Subway  Conductor Mumble. I
swear at one stop the guy said “sheeshakundabulatdeedaboom  DOG.” There’s a
canine loose at the Times  Square station?
Thanks to everyone who came to the gigs. I’m  especially grateful to those
who crept about on icy streets although if any of  you had had an accident I
would’ve never forgiven myself. Or you. Now go get  good car insurance so I can
sleep at night.
My computer crashed while I was on tour so if you  emailed me and didn’t get
a response, that’s why. After I came home I fixed it  myself. For those of you
who know me, you’ll know that’s a freakin’ miracle.  Call the pope.
In a couple of weeks I’m recording songs for my new  album! Ace sideplayer
Kara Barnard is joining me on guitar and mandolin. I’ll be  playing guitar,
singing and I dunno, playing the nose harp. I’m the rest of the  band so if I want
any more instruments, I’ve gotta play them. Wonder if I can  get a nose harp
instruction book at Powells? (That’s _www.powells.com_
(http://www.powells.com/)   for those of you going HUH? It’s one of the best book sites on the
planet.)  There's more about the new album below.
While Kara’s in NC next week, we’re gonna do a gig at  the Broad Street Café
in Durham. We don’t often get to perform together  and I haven’t been able
to get her to NC for a big weekend gig so this is it!  She’ll blow your hair
back, I guarantee it. Please bring 50 of your closest  friends. I’m also doing a
solo gig in Raleigh this Friday. It’s a small joint so come  early and don’t
bring 50 of your closest friends. More like 18.  Actually, it holds 25 if you
sit on top of each other. Sure, some of you would  like that.
All righty. I hope to see y’all out at a gig or on  MySpace.
3. New album progress
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Thanks to those of you who have been so generous in supporting my new album,
“Three Bridges.” If you’ve thought about ordering it but haven’t, there’s
an order form below.
Mainstream labels like Sony can spend $100,000 or more on ONE song but my
entire project is just $5,000. I’ve raised half the money. Please help me with
the rest. I’d offer you my first born but that seems like too much trouble.
Hey, just do it for karma points. Chocolate? Hug? A slap upside the head?
What ever you’re into, as long as it doesn’t involve permanent scarring.
I’m hoping to get this puppy out by early July, in time for the National
Women’s Music Festival. It may be late if I don’t raise the funds. Or I may put
it on a credit card and make my bank very happy.
Be the first on your block to get it hot off the press and before any store.
Print out this form and mail it to the address below with your check.

4. I have a MySpace  page!

www.myspace.com/jamieandersonmusic
Won’t you be my friend? Get tour updates, listen to songs and see pics that
aren’t on my regular site.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
5. Read  my blog. Yes, you. Please?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Read tidbits like "The Sequined Bra or the Paint Splattered Khakis?" or
"Funny Girls Are Easy."

(http://blog.myspace.com/jamieandersonmusic)
What exactly is a tidbit?

6. Musicians, looking for a bio writer?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
One of my gigs is writing CD reviews. If I read one  more bio loaded with
empty superlatives (The next Dylan! Better than yo mama!)  it’s gonna get ugly,
people. For a small fee and quick turnaround, I can write  your bio. My work
has been published in Acoustic Guitar, Sing Out!,  Indie-Music.com and more.
Here are some samples:
I can also write bios,  web content and press releases for dancers and other
kinds of creative  folks. Interested? Give me a shout:
7. Looking for someone to video tape  my performance
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A video with my cat song has received over 145,000 views on YouTube.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b72rZrbOhN4 Whoo hoo! Now I’m wondering if I can put
one of my performances up there. Do you have a video camera and have the
knowledge to post a video on YouTube? I’d love to talk with you! tsunamiinc at aol.c

8. Please help me get some large event bookings

10. The ending quotes
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Here are a few quotes from Molly Ivins. She hasn’t  been gone very long but
damn, I miss her.
“I have been attacked by Rush Limbaugh on the air, an  experience somewhere
akin to being gummed by a newt. It doesn’t actually hurt,  but it leaves you
with slimy stuff on your ankle.”
“Next time I tell you someone from Texas should not be president of the
United States,  please pay attention.”
“The Republicans are worried about the flag, gay  marriage and the terrible
burden of the estate tax on the rich. The rest of us  are obviously
unnecessarily worried about war, peace, the economy, the  environment and civilization.
Another reason to vote Republican – they have a  shorter list.”
I’m paying attention, Molly.
Peace and chocolate y’all,
