2. Welcome and general blabbing

Lots of gigs coming up in the midwest. Later I'm playing various dates in
North Carolina, Virginia, Maryland and Pennsylvania. Hope to see y'all out at a
gig!

3. Tee Corinne needs our assistance
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Pioneering lesbian photographer and artist, Tee Corinne has been diagnosed
with cancer of the bile ducts which has produced a tumor in her liver. She has
stopped teaching and is making as much order in her life as time and energy
permit. She does have emergency surgery insurance, but her bills are mounting
dramatically. Any financial assistance you might be able to offer would be most
appreciated. Please send a check and/or a card to Tee A. Corinne, POB 278 Wolf
Creek, OR 97497. A website and blog have been set up to share information
about her condition.http://jeansirius.com/TeeACorinne/tee_update.html
4. Looking for house concert opportunities in NC, MD, PA and MD
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
House concerts are fun. It's like giving a great party with live music. All
you need is space that seats 20 or more plus a good mailing list of friends.
Even if you've never done it before, I can guide you through the process. Here's
what I'm looking for:
Maryland, Virginia or eastern Pennsylvania: May 21, July 14, 16
North Carolina: summer or fall
Give me a shout at office at jamieanderson.com if you might be interested.

5. Women in Harmony Music Camp for Women
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Women in Harmony, my music camp for women, will be June 22 -- 25 at The
Mountain, a beautiful resort in the mountains southwest of Asheville, NC. This is
our fifth year! There'll be fun workshops (guitar, mandolin, harmony singing,
songwriting, drumming and more), song circles, and an open mike. All levels are
welcome - from shower singers to intermediate players/singers.
All of our fab teachers are returning - Elaine Townsend, Phyllis Free, Mary
Hocks and moi. The rooms are comfortable with a bathroom in every room, great
meals (including vegetarian options) and fabulous extras including trails for
hiking and a pond for swimming. The main room where most of our activities take
place is comfortably large with great views AND a grand piano. It's $350
before May 22, $375 after that date - cash, check or credit - includes all
programming, housing and meals.
Register at http://mountaincenters.org/WomeninHarmony_RegForm.pdf or call
828-526-5838. Check out the website for photos of this gorgeous setting. It
really is on top of a mountain! If you want to see info and photos from our
previous years, see www.jamieanderson.com/harmony.htm.
6. Looking for massage therapist in NC
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I'm looking for a licensed massage therapist in the triangle area who's
interested in trading massage for guitar lessons. Office at jamieanderson.com
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
7. "Potato Chips" on Good Morning America
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Suddenly it's a popular song. First, the Trinity College rugby team in
Dublin, Ireland, makes it their theme song then Good Morning America plays it on
March 14 (National Potato Chip Day doncha know). Now I'm waiting by my mail box
for that big check. You can hear the song at www.jamieanderson.com/music.html
or on my album Listen.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
8. Song Requests
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I love doing song requests but my memory sucks the family dog out loud. So,
if I'm coming to your town soon and there's a particular song you want to hear,
email me the request ahead of time. That'll give me time to rehearse the song
if I haven't done it in a while. And no fair requesting songs from my first
two albums. I'm over forty, cut me some slack. Even with hypnosis I couldn't
remember most of those songs. :)

9. Please help Camp Sisterspirit
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
As many of you know, they were hit hard by Katrina. Mississippi isn't getting
as much press as Louisiana and I suspect, not as much money. The FEMA money
they finally got covered almost nothing. There are still many repairs to be
made. All that plus one of the organizers is very sick. Please help them out.
Visit their website and see all the great work that they do. While you're there,
you can make a donation via PayPal. There's also a PO Box listed if you want
to send them a check. http://www.sisterspirit.com
10. Mailing list business
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
You are on this list because you signed my mailing list at a concert or
otherwise asked to be added. If you'd like to be deleted or if your address will
change soon, you can update your subscription at
www.jamieanderson.com/newsletter. To reach me directly, write to jamie at jamieanderson.com. Please don't
forward jokes, news items, virus warnings or petitions. I love personal notes from
fans, though, and try to answer every email. I do not share the mailing list
with anyone else. Feel free to forward this newsletter to your friends,
especially if I'm going to be performing in their area. Thanks!

11. The ending quotes
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
There were so many topics to choose from this month. I've narrowed it down to
two. One, computers, because mine just died and two, Bush, because he's easy.
Hey, we may not like him but at least he's a great source for comics. Thanks
to the current issue of The Funny Times for these quotes. (The Funny Times is
one of my favorite newspapers. www.funnytimes.com.) I regret that none of
these quotes are from women. Send me your favorite quotes by women and maybe I'll
include them in future editions of the newsletter.
"If the automobile had followed the same development cycle as the computer, a
Rolls-Royce would today cost $100, get a million miles per gallon, and
explode once a year, killing everyone inside." -- Robert X. Cringely
"Imagine if every Thursday your shoes exploded if you tied them the usual
way. This happens to us all the time with computers, and nobody thinks of
complaining." -- Jeff Raskin
"I think computer viruses should count as life. I think it says something
about human nature that the only form of life we have created is purely
destructive. We've created life in our own image." -- Stephen Hawking
"A printer consists of three main parts: the case, the jammed paper tray and
the blinking red light." -- Dave Barry
"Bush seems to be wrapped in bubbles, surrounded by sycophants. Bush was in
Tampa today in front of one of those invited audiences he speaks to. The first
question, this is not a joke, said the nation was blessed to have Bush as
president. That was a question. The second one called Jeb 'your great brother.'
You know, at least when Clinton got blown it was in private." -- Bill Maher
