2. Welcome and general blabbing
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I'd say February was a quiet month for me since I didn't have any gigs but I
was sure busy with other stuff, teaching and moving mostly. I'm still in the
same city, just moved across town. Who knew one musician could own so much
crap? And most of it CDs, books and instruments? All righty, enough, crabbing.
With all that behind me I'm ready to hit the road. This weekend I'll be in
Cincinnati (actually, just across the river). The next weekend I'm OPENING FOR CATIE
CURTIS in Charlotte, NC. Sorry about the shouting but I'm about to pee my
pants over this one. Later on in the month I'm leaving on a big midwest tour.
More details above. Hope to see y'all at a show.
4. Do you live in North Carolina? Want to do a house concert?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
House concerts are fun. It's like giving a great party with live music. All
you need is space that seats 20 or more plus a good mailing list of friends.
Even if you've never done it before, I can guide you through the process. Give
me a shout at office at jamieanderson.com if you might be interested.

5. Women in Harmony Music Camp for Women
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Women in Harmony, my music camp for women, will be June 22 -- 25 at The
Mountain, a beautiful resort in the mountains southwest of Asheville, NC. This is
our fifth year! There'll be fun workshops (guitar, mandolin, harmony singing,
songwriting, drumming and more), song circles, and an open mike. All levels are
welcome - from shower singers to intermediate players/singers.
All of our fab teachers are returning - Elaine Townsend, Phyllis Free, Mary
Hocks and moi. The rooms are comfortable with a bathroom in every room, great
meals (including vegetarian options) and fabulous extras including trails for
hiking and a pond for swimming. The main room where most of our activities take
place is comfortably large with great views AND a grand piano. It's $350
before May 22, $375 after that date - cash, check or credit - includes all
programming, housing and meals.
Register at http://mountaincenters.org/WomeninHarmony_RegForm.pdf or call
828-526-5838. Check out the website for photos of this gorgeous setting. It
really is on top of a mountain! If you want to see info and photos from our
previous years, see www.jamieanderson.com/harmony.htm.
6. Looking for massage therapist in NC
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I'm looking for a licensed massage therapist in the triangle area who's
interested in trading massage for guitar lessons. Office at jamieanderson.com

7. "Potato Chips" is their theme song
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The Trinity College Rugby team in Dublin, Ireland, has made my song "Potato
Chips" their theme song! They tell me they love chips as well as the song. They
mean what we call french fries but heck, I'm not going to quibble over
semantics. You can hear the song at www.jamieanderson.com/music.html. It's amazing
how my songs find their way around the world. Maybe someday I can sing it for
them in person.
8. Review my album for LC
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
If you're a lesbian who subscribes to the Lesbian Connection could you do me
a big favor and review A Promise of Light? Just a simple paragraph about it
would be groovy. You don't have to be a professional writer. Elsiepub at aol.com

9. Honorary Indiegrrl
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I'm now a lifetime honorary member of Indiegrrl, a great organization for
independent female musicians. Cool beans, eh? Check 'em out: www.indiegrrl.com
10. Mailing list business
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
You are on this list because you signed my mailing list at a concert or
otherwise asked to be added. If you'd like to be deleted or if your address will
change soon, you can update your subscription at
www.jamieanderson.com/newsletter. To reach me directly, write to jamie at jamieanderson.com. Please don't
forward jokes, news items, virus warnings or petitions. I love personal notes from
fans, though, and try to answer every email. I do not share the mailing list
with anyone else. Feel free to forward this newsletter to your friends,
especially if I'm going to be performing in their area. Thanks!

11. The ending quotes
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Guilt is a growth market. It's developed by the diet industry, circulated by
the health merchandisers, recycled by the environmentalists. And in its
improved version, targeted to the most reliable of consumers: mothers." - Ellen
Goodman
"I carry around such a load of nonspecific guilt that every time the metal
detector beeps, I always have a wild fear that this trip I absentmindedly packed
a Luger. " - Dan Greenberg
"Most gay bashers will be wearing what gay people had on four years earlier -
only in polyester and with a Penney's label." - Paul Rudnick
All right, no guilt or bashing, 'k?
Peace and chocolate,
Jamie
