2. Welcome and general blabbing
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Happy summer y’all! Damn what a time I had in the last month or so. I did
some NC gigs in mid June (who knew there were lesbians in Ayden?) then later it
was Women in Harmony, my women’s music camp near Asheville. I know I said in
the last newsletter that it was the last one but the campers this year almost
have me talked into doing it again. If I can swing it I’ll let y’all know. We
had so much fun this time it’d be a shame to let it go. Nothing like singing
and eating for three days straight.
Last weekend I performed at the Festival for the Eno in Durham, NC. My first
performance was on the biggest stage right before Dar Williams and then
Melissa Ferrick. It was enough to make this folksinger press her thighs together …
Dar even mentioned me in her set bless her heart and Melissa kept thanking who
ever got her to the festival. It was me who recommended her to the festival
organizer so I wanted to run up to the stage and shout ME! It was ME! But
believe or not I had a shyness attack. All right, I’m lying – my friends held me
down. I wonder if Melissa heard the screaming? My second set was a quieter one
at the Chimney Corner stage. Such a delight to play for an attentive crowd
there, among the peaceful trees. Even felt brave enough to play a few new songs.
I leave tomorrow for the National Women’s Music Festival. I’m not doing a
musical set but I’ll be emceeing and doing some workshops including a “decorate
a bra for Jamie” workshop. We’ve got a bedazzler, bits of ribbon and fabric,
and some really cool cheap bras from Ross’ Dress For Less. If you want to
participate, bring your own stuff to attach to a bra and you may win a fabulous
prize. Oh, and they have a really fab lineup that includes Lisa Koch, Ellis,
Alix Olson, Nedra Johnson, Margie Adam and many more. Shoot, I’m even bringing
my baton. Y’all come out and celebrate the longest running women’s music
festival on the planet. More at www.wiaonline.org
Coming up later this month I’ll be in Maryland, eastern PA and Fayettevill,
NC. Whoo hoo! More details above.
like 30 sites including iTunes.
4. Do you live in West Virginia, Ohio or Michigan? Want to do a house concert?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

House concerts are a blast. It's like giving a great party with live music.
All you need is space that seats 20 or more plus a good mailing list of
friends. Even if you've never done it before, I can guide you through the process.
Give me a shout at office at jamieanderson.com if you might be interested.

Here’s what I’m looking for right now. Even if you can’t help me with these
dates and/or places, let me know if you might be interested in hosting a
concert at another time and where you live.

August 4, West Virginia or Ohio
August 5, Ohio or Michigan

7. Michele Balan on Last Comic Standing
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
You may know this great comic  because we’ve shared gigs and from her
performances in Provincetown, women’s music festivals or gay cruises. She’s a hard
edged New Yorker who never fails to make me laugh. She’s on the popular reality
TV show Last Comic Standing, seen on NBC Tuesday nights. She’s doing very
well and is still on the show. Tune in! More at www.nbc.com/Last_Comic_Standing
8. Camp Sisterspirit Still Needs Our Help
 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

They had to shut their food bank because they ran out of goods to offer. They
are saving what little is left in anticipation of another busy storm season.
If you could donate even a dollar (but I hope it can be more) you’ll really
help them out. Donate at www.campsisterspirit.com or mail a check to PO Box 12,
Ovett, MS 39464
9. Mailing list business

You are on this list because you signed my mailing list at a concert or
otherwise asked to be added. If you'd like to be deleted or if your address will
change soon, you can update your subscription at
www.jamieanderson.com/newsletter. To reach me directly, write to jamie at jamieanderson.com. Please don't
forward jokes, news items, virus warnings or petitions. I love personal notes from
fans, though, and try to answer every email. I do not share the mailing list
with anyone else. Feel free to forward this newsletter to your friends,
especially if I'm going to be performing in their area. Thanks!
